Pre-Release of Revised Technical Guidance

Companies, consultants, industry coalitions, and financial institutions are invited to collaborate with SBTN through the Corporate Engagement Program as we develop our methods, tools, and guidance. You will find the pre-release versions of our revised technical guidance as they become available. Please do not share these pre-release versions externally.

Please refer to the public FAQs for any other questions you may have.

SBTN Corporate Manual

You can explore all of our latest corporate guidance online through our new target-setting guide which is also available offline through our just-published corporate manual. Both now serve as the main entry point into our technical methods.

This suite of updated technical guidance and enabling materials marks an important milestone in our journey, made possible by the fruitful learning experience of our trail-blazing target-setting companies and the broader Network’s ongoing support from our NGO partners, companies and consultancies.

Our target-setting process

This page includes links to the v1 SBTN guidance for Steps 1, 2, and 3 (Freshwater and Land). This technical guidance reflects the feedback from SBTN partners and CEP members during several rounds of internal consultations and builds upon the first three steps of the five-step corporate target-setting framework introduced by SBTN in 2020 with the Initial Guidance for Business.
