On February 20th, 2025, the Accountability Accelerator opened the doors of its validation service for science-based targets for nature to all eligible companies.
Through the new service, companies can obtain an independent stamp of approval, confirming their nature target-setting work is aligned with the latest science. This is a major milestone for private sector action on nature, offering robust credibility to the target-setting process.
The Accountability Accelerator, part of the Global Commons Alliance, hosts the independent validation function of the Science Based Targets Network.
To announce the launch of the validation service, the Accountability Accelerator hosted two webinars to explore what the validation process entails, how the new service works, and how companies can begin the validation journey.
Webinar Speakers:
- Natasha Matic, Executive Director of the Accountability Accelerator
- Erin Billman, Executive Director of the Science Based Targets Network
- Paola D. Luna, Validation Director of the Accountability Accelerator
- Heidi Lámpen, Operations & Data Manager of the Accountability Accelerator
- Kathryn Oldfield, Validation & Learning Manager of the Accountability Accelerator
