SBTN-TNFD: Complementary approaches for positive action for nature at COP15

Date:

13 December 2022

Time:

11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Location:

Humaniti Hotel Montreal

In order to contribute to a nature positive economy, the private sector needs to rely on the best available science-based methodologies to understand their risks and opportunities, impacts and dependencies on nature and guide them to take action.

The Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) and the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) have been developing such methodologies and frameworks and while they serve different purposes, they are also very complementary.

During this panel, the Technical Directors of both TNFD and SBTN will be in conversation with representatives from the corporate and financial sectors to share how both frameworks align in their principles and in their practical application. This will include the similarities in overall approach, data that they both require and how their outputs can ultimately help investors make decisions on nature-related risks and opportunities.

RSVP: This session can be attended in-person at the Humaniti Hotel in Montreal or online. Please indicate by reserving either an in-person or online ticket. If you reserve an online ticket, you will be emailed a livestream link at a later date.

*All times in GMT-5 (Montreal).
