Target-setting Tools and Guidance

  • Access the Step 1 & 2 self assessment tool (version 1)– this tool is not yet publicly available. Companies in the CEP are encouraged to use this tool now. NGOs and service providers are encouraged to use this tool with clients, in or out of the CEP, and are required to provide the proper context around use of this tool and ensure it is handled confidentially.
  • Access the Train the Trainer materials – please note that these trainings are specifically designed for NGO partners and service providers in the Referral Program. They are available to Corporate Engagement Program members for visibility and reference, but should not be shared externally.

Below is the latest publicly-available SBTN target-setting guidance, which was publicly released in May 2023. This guidance builds on the Initial Guidance for Business, released in 2020.

Latest technical guidance

This page includes links to the latest SBTN guidance for Steps 1, 2, and 3 (Freshwater and Land). This technical guidance reflects the feedback from SBTN partners and CEP members during several rounds of internal consultations and builds upon the first three steps of the five-step corporate target-setting framework introduced by SBTN in 2020 with the Initial Guidance for Business.
