About the event
The recent launch of the first science-based targets (SBTs) for nature from Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) addresses key needs for companies in setting location-specific water targets and advancing corporate water stewardship.
Building on efforts from the UN 2023 Water Conference, this interactive session ‘Pioneering freshwater science-based targets to advance corporate water stewardship’, will cover how SBTN’s freshwater science-based targets interconnect with the existing guidance, initiatives, and standards designed to help companies with their water stewardship journey.
The session will be split into two parts. During the first segment, participants will gain a clearer understanding of the corporate water target-setting setting landscape and how science-based targets for freshwater interrelate with The AWS Standard, Net Positive Water Impact, CDP’s water security questionnaire, and contextual water targets. This builds on the corporate water stewardship journey presented at UN 2023 Water Conference and elaborates on how a company might engage with each or multiple approaches along its water stewardship journey.
The second segment will consist of a “waterside chat” panel discussion, where companies will discuss their nature-focused programs and experience with science-based targets for nature, with a focus on freshwater.
Audience participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions of companies participating in SBTN’s target validation pilot.
Register to attend in person.
