Regional Initiative

SBTN’s regional initiative in Taiwan was led by BCSD Taiwan and ERM Taiwan.

Background

Between December 2024 and July 2025, BCSD Taiwan and ERM Taiwan brought together a group of four companies preparing to set science-based targets for nature, from industries including hardware manufacturing, cement, telecommunications, and real estate. Through a series of workshops and meetings, participants shared experiences, discussed questions, and explored solutions together, enhancing their collective understanding of the SBTN approach to target-setting. With this initial pilot complete, BCSD Taiwan and ERM Taiwan will explore re-launching the initiative in 2026.

Resources & Outputs

SBTN Corporate Manual for setting science-based targets for nature – Traditional Chinese translation. Translated by BCSD Taiwan and launched in April 2026, this makes the SBTN methodology accessible to Taiwanese and other Traditional Chinese-speaking companies for the first time.
Nature Positive – Taiwan Report (2024). Taiwan’s first localised nature sustainability action guide, developed through BCSD Taiwan’s Taiwan Nature Positive Initiative, referencing SBTN and TNFD methodologies as frameworks for corporate nature action.
