SBTN appoints Charlie Henderson as new Market Development Director
The Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) has appointed Charlie Henderson as its new Market Development Director. Joining in January 2026, Charlie will play a key role in growing corporate adoption of science-based targets for nature through SBTN’s Step Up for Nature initiative and expanding engagement with partners.
Erin Billman, CEO of SBTN said, “Charlie brings a rare ability to connect the deep technical work behind our targets with the C-suite decisions needed to drive real transformation. This will be critical as science-based targets for nature move into the mainstream.”
Charlie Henderson added, “Science-based targets for nature are a critical tool for companies to translate nature-related risk into quantified targets and real operational action – strengthening resilience and protecting long-term value. I’m excited to join SBTN at this pivotal moment and to help turn growing ambition into credible, large-scale action for the private sector.”
With nearly three decades of experience advancing corporate sustainability, Charlie has shaped nature and climate strategies for companies across the food and beverage, consumer goods and mining sectors. He joins SBTN from ERM, where he held senior leadership roles including UK Nature and Water Team Lead and UK Managing Partner for Sustainability and Climate.
With this hire, Jess McGlyn, who established and led SBTN’s Engagement and Knowledge Management function for more than 6 years, will transition to serving as a senior advisor for SBTN. Under Jess’s leadership, SBTN has engaged several companies to adopt science-based targets for nature, developed a strong partner network to support companies in their SBTN journey, and grown SBTN’s Corporate Engagement Program into a global community of more than 300 organizational members across 40 countries.
