This session provides a comprehensive update on the evolving SBTN landscape, beginning with critical announcements regarding the upcoming focus group on supplier engagement and the May 31, 2026, deadline for companies to join the Ambition Board. We explore the technical development of Steps 1 & 2 Version 2, offering a forward-looking view of the methodology through proposed refinements intended to increase assessment efficiency, enable progress-based traceability disclosures, and expand action pathways for upstream value chains. Additionally, we highlight key technical updates to materiality screening and the integration of nature dependencies to showcase how Version 2 will strengthen the double materiality perspective while maintaining scientific integrity.
