Science-based targets for land: public consultation open now for version 2
Today, the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) is pleased to open a public consultation on the draft technical guidance for Version 2 of the Land science-based targets.
The SBTN Land Hub, led by WWF and Conservation International, has developed this updated guidance to incorporate the latest science, expand the scope to address a broader range of land-related impacts and introduce greater flexibility for companies.
Land Version 1 targets, published in 2024, are available for adoption now and compatible with the forthcoming Version 2 guidance – enabling companies to start taking credible, science-based action on land today.
Final Version 2 guidance is expected to be available in 2026, and is open for public consultation between April 29 and May 27 2025; the Land Hub is seeking input from those with expertise in sustainability, ecology, environmental risk, and land management.
