Christian Sjöland
Hi, Regarding Step 1a. When consulting a client, they had not only picked the “production processes” that were in their direct operations, but also picked what they deemed material production processes in their upstream value chain. When using the materiality matrix provided in the august update there are two alternatives. Alternativ 1: For direct operations: Export Direct Impact of Direct Production Processes For upstream: Export Upstream Impact of Direct Production Processes Alternative 2: For direct operations: Export Direct Impact of Direct Production Processes For upstream: Export Direct Impact of Upstream Production Processes (these will be more detailed than) Example Wind Energy Company Alternative 1: To map the upstream impact of Wind Energy Provision, Alternative 1 looks at the listed Upstream impact on Wind Energy Provision. Alternative 2: To map the upstream impact of Wind Energy Provision, Alternative 2 looks at the direct impact of production processes that are upstream of Wind Energy Provision such as “Construction of Roads” and “Manufacture of engines and turbines”. Alternative 1 becomes less granular. Haha. I hope this became clear. Best regards, Christian Sjöland, Ecogain
